First Christian Church of Glendale Scholarship

The First Christian Church of Glendale Scholarship was established in 2005. This annual scholarship award is given thanks to the generosity of past members of the church. Applicants must profess a belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and their personal Savior. The student must be a graduating senior, have a minimum overall 2.5 GPA and must be a U.S. Citizen. Student must show proof of a minimum of 13 years residency in the Glendale, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge, Montrose, Verdugo City, Sunland or Tujunga area, even if attending other area private or public high schools.

This award may be considered for a renewable for an additional 3 years.

Note: This scholarship will be available for students who graduated from high school in 2019 and students graduating in 2020.

  1. Please provide a personal essay explaining your religious belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and your personal Savior and your view on what it means to be an American.
  2. Please provide proof of U.S. Citizenship (copy of passport, birth certificate or certificate of naturalization) or legal permanent residency (green card).
  3. Please provide proof of residency in the Glendale, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge, Montrose, Verdugo City, Sunland or Tujunga area. For example: a copy of a bill, rental agreement, mortgage/deed documentation, school transcript, parent’s marriage certificate or other credible form from 13 years ago; showing that the address is/was in the specified areas above.
  4. Financial need is a determining factor for this scholarship. A FAFSA/SAR report is required to be considered for this scholarship. Have you uploaded you FAFSA/SAR report in the General Application?
  5. Please indicate how much financial support you expect to receive from family members.
