Frank & Ann Leone Scholarship

Frank and his wife, Ann, were well-known in Glendale for their love of community and their philanthropic spirit. They raised three children: Cindy, Patty, and Bill. All three attended local schools including Glendale High. During Cindy’s senior year at USC, she was involved in an auto accident and passed away. Cindy had a stellar academic standing while there, majored in journalism, and during her junior year was honored to be Editor of the El Rodeo, USC’s annual year book. Years later, family friend, David Bieringer, who also attended Glendale High with academic honors and had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, was involved in an auto accident and passed away. He was a junior at Cal State Los Angeles at the time. Frank and Ann, knowing of the Foundation and wanting to give back to the community, were deeply inspired to create a scholarship honoring those students whose academic achievements mirrored those of Cindy and David. This scholarship recognizes a deserving Glendale High School senior who has strived to do his or her academic best.
